Celebrity Column: Nicole Kidman comes back to TV for 'Hemingway & Gellhorn'
Nicole Kidman, who hasnt worked in television for more than 20 years, is set to reappear on the small screen Monday in the HBO project Hemingway & Gellhorn. In the movie, Kidman plays Martha Gellhorn, a prominent war correspondent in the 20th century who was also Ernest Hemingways third wife.
I dont get to read many scripts that are going to be made that are driven by a woman, Kidman, 44, told the Los Angeles Times about her interest in the movie. Shes a woman who sacrifices a lot, who doesnt compromise, for a force she feels inside her, which is to tell the stories of people around her.
The movie, which also stars Clive Owen and is directed by Philip Kaufman, follows the couples tumultuous love story and includes an intimate scene set as a building crumbles around them.
It's awesome, Kidman told McClatchy Newspapers of filming the scene. It really emphasizes that they came together through war. They fed off that drama and that energy, in a way. Two people that would make love through a building collapsing, that says something about who they are.
Hemingway & Gellhorn airs 8 p.m. Monday on HBO.

Luke Bryan celebrated his first platinum album, Tailgates & Tanlines, with a parking lot party at LP Field last week complete with food trucks and a concert.
Heck, a crazy guy like me, you never know if youll get another one of these, Bryan said before his party. Were just excited about it and we feel like this is a celebration of Nashville. This town has been so good to me, to dream to come here and for your dreams to blossom from the day I moved here with the music community and the writing community, its w! hat made it all possible.
Bryans current Top 10 single, Drunk on You, is set to further his career even more. The singer said he knew when he wrote the summertime song that it was something special, and in the 15 weeks since it was released, its proved him right.
There are lines that tickle your ear and stand out, he says. We felt like everything was lining up for it to be really big. We just had to get it on the radio. And its done nothing but held up to everything we knew it could be. Its fun to know this song is going to be the fans summer anthem.

'Truck' momentum finally pays off
Kip Moore spent the past two months on tour with Billy Currington and got a pretty memorable surprise the night of the last show: a No. 1 song.
Moores debut song, Somethin Bout a Truck, from his new album, Up All Night, became his first Billboard country chart topper last week.
Its so freakin cool, Moore says. I cant believe whats going on. (I cant get over) how many people love the song. Its not just one demographic.
Moores manager called him at midnight with the news.
Id spent all day like waiting, he says. When it was official, we all started yelling. My band is such a big part of this. Weve been winning people live for the last three years.
Another reward on the tour came shortly after Moore released Up All Night on April 24 fans started singing all the songs back to him, instead of just Somethin Bout a Truck.
It let me know that people have invested in the whole record, he said. But Truck got crazier and crazier. Each week it was more momentum and it was truly wild just to see how rabid people were getting over that song.
! With the Currington tour over, Moore is poised to spend the rest of the summer playing shows with Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley, and doing time in small clubs, which he says is just the way he wanted it. I want to go win people over, he says.
Moore will appear on Fox & Friends at 5 a.m. Tuesday on FOX News Channel.
