Park Chan-Wook's 'Stoker' to Close Rotterdam Festival

BERLIN Stoker, the hotly anticipated English-language debut from Korean horror master Park Chan-Wook (Oldboy, Thirst) will be the closing film of this years International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).

The psychological thriller starring Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman and Matthew Goode will have its world premiere in Sundance before traveling to Rotterdam to close the 2013 IFFR on Feb. 2 for its international premiere.

Written by Prison Break actor Wentworth Miller, Stoker follows India (Wasikowska) and her emotionally unstable mother, Evelyn (Kidman). After Indias father dies, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with them. Despite suspecting him of ulterior motives, India becomes increasingly infatuated with her mysterious uncle.

Fox Searchlight is handling distribution of Stoker in the U.S., with a limited release set for March 1. In the Netherlands, 20th Century Fox is releasing the film through Warner Bros. on April 11.

The 42nd edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam runs Jan. 23- Feb. 3.
