Nicole Kidman quits sex film

25 Oct Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman will no longer be playing a role in Danish director Lars von Trier's "The Nymphomaniac", according to Hollywood Reporter.

Kidman, 45, had decided to depart from the controversial film that focuses on a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac's erotic experiences with a man who saved her after a beating, but the reason the Australian star left the production was not confirmed.

Sources suspected that Kidman, who filmed a sexual scene with Zac Efron in the recent Lee Daniels' film, "The Paperboy", was trying to avoid shooting real sex scenes for Lars's erotic film.

Meanwhile, "Transformers" male lead Shia LaBeouf is eager to take part in "The Nymphomaniac", and has already sent in a sex tape of him and his companion to the director.

As to everyone's speculations on whether there will be real and explicit sex scenes in the filming of the controversial project, LaBeouf remarked, "The movie is what you think it is. It is Lars von Trier, making a movie about what he's making. Everything that is illegal, we'll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening."

"The Nymphomaniac" will star Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, who plays sex addict Joe, Willem Dafoe, Uma Thurman, Christian Slater, and Stellan Skarsgard.

The erotic film will be released in 2013 in two versions, hardcore and softcore.
