Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman in 'The Paperboy' - first-look pictures

The first pictures from Lee Daniels's Precious follow-up The Paperboy have emerged online.

Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman and Matthew McConaughey feature in the stills for Daniels's movie version of Peter Dexter's 1995 novel.

The trio of images debuted on French website Allocine.

The Paperboy centres on a reporter (McConaughey) and his brother (Efron) as they try to free a possibly-innocent man (John Cusack) from death row.

Their efforts run into trouble when Efron's character Jack James begins an affair with a woman (Nicole Kidman) Cusack's inmate has been writing to from inside.

The Paperboy will hold its world premiere in competition at next month's Cannes Film Festival.
