Nicole Kidman's 'Grace of Monaco' Acquired by Weinstein Company
The Weinstein Co. is set to give the story of Grace Kelly the royal treatment.
The company has acquiredU.S. distribution rights to Grace of Monacoand will give the film an awards-season qualifying run with a limited release Dec. 27.
Directed by Olivier Dahan (La Vie en Rose) from a screenplay by Arash Amel (Erased), Grace of Monaco stars Nicole Kidman as the ill-fated Hollywood star-turned-European princess.
Pierre-Ange Le Pogam of Stone Angels produced with YRF Entertainments AmelChopra and Uday Chopra. TWC executives screened the film earlier this month in London.

More than 30 years after her death, Grace Kellys story continues to be one of insurmountable allure, and we are so happy Olivier Dahan has brought it new life, TWCco-chairman Harvey Weinstein said. As always, Nicole Kidmans commanding performance is the perfect portrait of a woman who was not only royalty but who also remains a legend of the silver screen and fashion icon.
Tim Roth also starsas Kelly's husband, Prince Rainier III. Milo Ventimiglia, Frank Langella, Parker Posey, Paz Vega and Derek Jacobi round out the cast.
CAA and LePogamon repped the filmmakers. David Glasser and Michal Steinberg negotiated on behalf of the Weinstein Co.
