Watts- 'Nicole stopped me from quitting'

Naomi Watts has credited her best friend Nicole Kidman with convincing her not to give up acting when she struggled early in her career.

Naomi, 44 and 45-year-old Nicole have been friends since working together on the movie 'Flirting' in 1991 and when Nicole's Hollywood career took off, she urged Naomi not to give up.

Speaking on CBS' 'Sunday Morning', Naomi said: 'She kept saying, 'It's just going to take one thing, one thing, Nay, and you know, if you're in a hit film...then everything changes.'

'Oh my God, I mean, I considered myself fairly sensitive, but I don't think a strong person could cope with (rejection) over and over again. There were moments when I was sure I was done. Oh yeah, but I didn't have a plan B really, I didn't.'

The 'Impossible' actress also revealed she and Nicole are searching for the perfect project to work on together.

She said: 'We've been looking for a movie to do together for a long time now. But both of us have ... picky tastes. It has to be the right thing.'

However, Naomi - who has two sons, Alexander, six, and Samuel, five, with her long-term partner Liev Schreiber - recently admitted she was pleased her forthcoming movie 'Queen of the Desert' has been delayed because she wants to spend time with her family following a heavy period shooting 'Diana' and 'The Impossible'.

She said: 'It's still a way's off. I don't know yet. Hopefully, it will happen. I just can't travel again right now because I did a lot last year. It's been a big year and it's time for me to be home with the kids.'
