NICOLE Kidman is among a raft of expat Aussie celebrities returning home to celebrate Christmas with their families.

As Russell Crowe touched down from New York yesterday, driving straight from the airport to the Rose Bay home of estranged wife Danielle Spencer to reunite with his sons, Kidman was preparing her family to leave Belgium, where she has been filming Grace of Monaco.

Little Miss Sunshine actress Toni Collette is holidaying in Port Macquarie, Brothers and Sisters favourite Rachel Griffiths has been seen at Palm Beach and Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan has flown in from his Los Angeles base.

The Mentalist star Simon Baker has been seen at his house in Lennox Head, near Byron Bay, and Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz is staying with his girlfriend, former Home and Away babe Sharni Vinson, in Cronulla.

There is also talk that Kylie Minogue, who will lead the countdown to the midnight fireworks on New Year's Eve, is planning to come in early to see her parents, Ron and Carol Minogue, in Melbourne.

Confidential understands Kidman is making the trip home to meet her new nephew. Sister Antonia welcomed her sixth child, Alexander, on December 3.

"She really, really wants to meet the baby but then it's back to promoting The Paperboy and filming," a source said.

Despite being in Sydney this week for tonight'! s premiere of Les Miserables - and often spending the holidays Down Under - Hugh Jackman will return to New York after the red-carpet gala, where wife Deborra-Lee Furness and their two children remain.

Naomi Watts will also stay in NYC for Chrissie with partner Liev Schreiber and their two kids.
