Nicole Kidman misses out on Emmy

Nicole Kidman has lost out to Julianne Moore in the best actress in a miniseries or movie category at the Emmy Awards.

Kidman was nominated for her turn in Hemingway Gellhorn, about the tumultuous romance of Ernest Hemingway and journalist Martha Gellhorn.

Moore took home the Emmy for her role as former Alaska governor and one-time Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin in Game Change.

Also up in the category were Connie Britton (American Horror Story), Ashley Judd (Missing) and Emma Thompson (The Song of Lunch).

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards are under way at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
