Golden Globes To Be Presented By Nicole Kidman, Freida Pinto

Hollywood actresses Nicole Kidman and Freida Pinto are among those set to present awards at the Golden Globes on Sunday (15 January 2012), according to Hollywoodscoop.com. The A-list pair will be joined by the stars of animated hit Puss in Boots, Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek.

President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Dr Aida Takla-O'Reilly said he was "thrilled to have these talented individuals" be part of the 69th annual ceremony, adding, "Each will bring something very special to this year's show!" This year's Golden Globes is set to be an intriguing ceremony, given that the host, British comedian Ricky Gervais, has attracted far more attention than the actual nominees. Following his controversial helming of the show in 2011, the star of The Office is likely to dish out more of the same and some of Hollywood's biggest stars will no doubt be in the firing line. Last year, Robert Downey Jr, Johnny Depp and Tim Allen found themselves on the end of jibes from Gervais, though Depp took the insults in good spirits and has since worked with the comedian. Downey Jr was visibly less impressed and made reference to the show's "sinister undertones" while up on stage. Also presenting awards on Sunday will be the actress MELLISA MCCARTHY, whose movie Bridesmaids is nominated for Best Comedy of the Year.

As mentioned, the anticipation for Gervais' performance has somewhat taken the edge of this year's nominees - with black and white silent flick The Artist leading the way with six nominations. Hollywood favorite George Clooney is up for Best Actor for his role in The Descendants, while Steven Spielberg's War Hose is also in with a chance of the major honors.
